La Tour, L’Arrière-pays, 2001.
L’Arrière-pays is a work in progress that involves photographing government funded housing projects in France throughout the economic boom that hit many developed countries between 1945 and the 1970’s. These apartments served to house the unqualified workforce that was being brought into the country in droves at the time. Once revered, these neighbourhoods now serve as a testament to class degradation and social struggle in France.
